Live…. To reach a goal
Each one of us live not just to live,
live not just to eat , not only to survive, but each one of us live to reach a
goal that is centered in his /her mind.
When I study my teaching diploma, I do
not study it just to get a certificate in teaching but also I study to best
an effective teacher in future.
Same thing is founded in your job, what
is your goal when you teach? To get money , maybe it is a part but if it’s the whole
part your teaching become less valuable and you loose the characteristic of the
effective teacher. We teach to build educated generation. In teaching, we have
have tow objectives cognitive and affective, the majority of school focus on
cognitive but missing the affective one that focus on teaching students values
and ethics in our society.
I say that to focus on the importance of specifying your learning objectives during teaching for example say that your
student after learning will be able to sole equations with one unknown , it
help you to organize and manage class , also student benefit from specifying
learning objectives . If you don’t specify your objectives, students will be
lost and confused , do not know what to do and what to learn , what is
worthy learning and what is irrelevant?
According to Ralph Waldo Emerson: “The purpose of life is not to be
happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it
make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” So teach well to be
useful teacher.
To have a goal in our life, make it meaningful and deserved to be lived, same to the lessons we teach, when we put the goal of each lesson and make students understand these goals, this will make our lesson meaningful and effective. SO we should always tell the students about the goals before starting the lesson, and we should select topics that motivate our students, and show them where they can use them.
